Franziska Trede is professor in higher education at Charles Sturt University. Franziska’s research interests include professional practice, professional identity development, intercultural communication, critical thinking, emancipatory learning and transitions from practitioner to educator to researcher. Franziska is currently supervising 4 PhD candidates from allied health, nursing, and veterinary science backgrounds.
She published 5 books, and numerous book chapters and journal papers. Her latest edited book ‘educating the deliberate professional: preparing for future practices’ is coming out in May. She also produces educational resources including online modules in interprofessional leadership development and educational DVDs. She has presented her work on local, national and international platforms and was invited speaker at higher education institutions in Austria, Italy, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Canada and UK. Katelin is a post-doctoral research fellow at Charles Sturt University. Her research interests include professional and practice-based education. While gaining her PhD in psychology at Macquarie University, Katelin lectured and tutored on numerous undergraduate psychology subjects. She has extensive experience designing and managing qualitative and quantitative studies with small and large samples, both online and in person; analysing, interpreting, and reporting complex data; and presenting research findings to novice and expert audiences.
